My current work in progress is a series of fragmented figures and stelae. I’m finding the pieces evocative and puzzling, giving only glimpses and hints into their true meaning.

Without a clear and consistent outline the pieces are alive, free, and energetic. It’s as if the disruption and rhythm heighten the overall feeling and stimulate thought. They appear as totems; fearless survivors weathered through the ages. But not at all unfamiliar. Ancient and contemporary at the same time.

Being an artist is a never ending journey. With this series I’m exploring how time and perspective influence our view of ourselves in the 21st century; while consciously inter-weaving classical influences from archaeology, religion, and master sculptors of the past.
